Treasurer 101
Being a treasurer is an important role in any community organisation. This practical workshop is designed to support new and existing treasurers with the essential knowledge and skills needed to manage your organisation’s finances responsibly.
This workshop will cover:
- The role and responsibilities of a treasurer
- Key legislation and compliance requirements every treasurer needs to understand
- Financial reporting responsibilities
- Tax returns and key filing obligations
- How to prevent and identify fraudulent behaviour
Designed specifically for community groups and for-purpose organisations, this session will provide practical guidance to help you in your treasurer role.

About Weave Together:
Weave Together is a South-Island based charity consultancy dedicated to supporting and empowering nonprofits. They provide management, IT, strategic planning, governance and policy support.
Our facilitator Linda Taylor has fifteen years of experience in nonprofit senior leadership and CEO roles, including as Head of Fundraising and Development for national charities. Linda has commercial and nonprofit governance experience with significant experience in strategy and managing change. She has recently submitted her doctoral thesis at the University of Otago, investigating funder decision-making and efficiency measurement in Aotearoa New Zealand.
